Dopo il rinvio della manifestazione, ecco l'ufficialità delle nuove date dell'Olimpiade di Tokyo. Non più nell'estate del 2020, ma dal 23 luglio all'8 agosto del 2021. Il CIO ha reso note anche le date delle Paralimpiadi: dal 24 agosto al 5 settembre 2021.
